Delete your account

You can delete your Thoughtomatic account and its data at any time. The quickest way is in the app. If you no longer have the app, you can do it on this page.

In the app Recommended

This also erases everything stored on your phone.

  1. Open Thoughtomatic and go to Settings.
  2. Under Account, tap Delete my account.
  3. Type DELETE and confirm.
  4. Wait for the confirmation. The app erases your phone's copy, deletes your cloud data and then signs you out.

What happens to your data

The same for the app and for this page. It cannot be undone.

Deleted

  • Any subscription, cancelled right away, and your Stripe customer record with saved cards
  • Your synced notes, tasks, files and cloud backups
  • Search index copies and journal insight data
  • Pages, apps, push tokens, connected-app grants and usage records
  • Groups you own, with everything in them. In other groups, what you posted stays with the group, with your name and id removed
  • Your sign-in account, last, after everything else is gone

Kept, without anything that points to you

  • Records of money paid or refunded and payment disputes, for accounting and tax law (7 years)
  • The security audit of admin actions on your account
  • An extension you published, so people who installed it are not broken, under the publisher name you chose
  • A record that the deletion happened, holding a one-way code of your account id
  • Stripe's own charge and invoice records, which Stripe must keep by law

These kept records are filed under a random code. Once your sign-in account is deleted, nothing links that code back to you.

Can't sign in?

If you never linked your account to Google or an email, it exists only on your phone. Delete it in the app as described above. If you no longer have the app or have lost access, email [email protected] from the address on the account and it will be deleted for you.
